Shopdesign - Beans & Leaves The conceptual design of this shop for tea, coffee and chocolate products is based on a corporate pattern. The pattern itself is rather graphic and therefore I needed to find ways to calm it down in order for it to work harmoniously in such a large space. When bringing the pattern into the ground plan I wanted to avoid sharp and narrow corner situations by scaling it bigger. This also divided the space consistently in smaller areas with different purposes. In the ground floor the division is made between the three product groups and the second floor is made as a cafe. From a customers point of view the pattern as a overall concept is not immediately visible, other than subtle surface material changes, and therefore the smaller segments of the pattern repeat as lighting elements throughout the store. In the visualizations I wanted to reflect the atmosphere through lights and shadows in black and white pictures.
