Rhino: Lofting closed curves with record history by Lee-Su Huang

This video is produced by Lee-Su Huang. It covers the Loft command in Rhino using closed curves with seams to create surfaces.

Example 1: Create polygon tower from Santiago Calatrava with 4 polygons (5 sided). Rotate polygons.

Loft : order of selection of polygons has impact on design!

Record history: you can rework your 3d model but should not move components.

Example 2: Create ellipsoidal tower from mad architects

Loft: Adjust seams to get single surface. Switch of Isocurves in “display-viewport”

Change shapes/design with “history record”

Example 3: Create freeform design: Rebuild: check amount of control points

Check Topology with “pointsOn” to manipulate shape. Number of control points must be the same for planar surface objects.
